Fremont County Iowa
Veterans Affairs

Serving Those Who Served

MISSION STATEMENT:

To serve and support all Fremont County Veterans and their families with dignity and compassion by providing prompt and courteous assistance in preparing, submitting, and presenting all claims and requests for benefits to which they may be eligible for at the local, state, and federal level under the law.

OUR VISION:

To ensure that all Fremont County Veterans and their families receive the benefits, support, care, and recognition that the veteran has earned, by administering all current programs, anticipating future needs, and taking the necessary actions to meet those needs.

You will need to have a copy of your discharge papers (DD Form 214) when you come in to register or apply for any benefits. If you don't have a copy, we will be glad to assist you in obtaining a duplicate.

We now have a veterans outpatient clinic in Shenandoah. It is located at 2043 A Avenue. The phone number is (712) 246-0092.

The Veterans Affairs Commission meets the last Wednesday of each month.
